Nivia Fontanez is a Bronx, New York-based radiology technologist with experience in X-ray, CT imaging, and bone density studies. She holds a New York State radiologic technologist license and is qualified to administer contrast for CT studies.

Fontanez took a nontraditional path into healthcare. She earned an associate degree in computer science from SUNY Cobleskill before working in finance and later returning to school to pursue radiology. While completing her education, she balanced work and school, including bartending, and had previously become a certified nursing assistant. In 2020, she earned her bachelor’s degree in radiology from Concordia College.

Today, Fontanez brings her technical training and patient-facing experience together in her work in medical imaging. She was recognized with a Best Technologist Award in 2025. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys reading, traveling, and tattoos, and has a strong interest in personal growth and continuing to learn.
